Medical Director of Optical Cancer Care Foundation, Dr. Olufemi Olaleye, Sentenced to Double Life Imprisonment for Defiling Wife’s Niece by Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court”
In a recent verdict, Dr. Olufemi Olaleye, the Medical Director of Optical Cancer Care Foundation, has been handed a double life imprisonment sentence by the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court for sexually assaulting his wife’s 16-year-old niece. The court’s decision followed the successful prosecution of Olaleye on charges of defilement and sexual assault by penetration, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Despite his initial plea of not guilty, Justice Rahman Oshodi ruled that the evidence presented during the trial was compelling and left no room for doubt regarding the charges. The judge emphasized the significance of a confessional statement made by the defendant in the presence of his lawyer and the DPO of Anthony Police Station, in which he expressed regret for his actions.
This statement, despite the defendant’s denial, was verified by the presence of Mr. Olalekan Buruji’s NBA seal, and the judge dismissed the defendant’s denial as unfounded, labeling him as a “dangerous offender” who should feel ashamed of his actions
