The authorities at Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin, (Kwarapoly) withdrawn the certificate of an HND student, AbdulRasheed Zubair Olatunji, on Tuesday due to his involvement in cultism.
The management said in a statement made available to media by the Deputy Registrar, Mr. Olayemi Olatomi, that the withdrawal of the certificate was necessary due to his engagement in cultism, which is contradictory to the matriculation oath he sworn to.
The statement also stated that AbdulRasheed’s mobilisation to the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been put on hold.
“The Authority of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has approved the immediate withdrawal of AbdulRasheed Zubair Olatunji of the institution’s Public Administration Department’s Higher National Diploma Certificate for his involvement in cultism contrary to the matriculation oath he sworn to.”
“This decision was made on the basis of the report of the Polytechnic’s Students’ Disciplinary Committee.”
“AbdulRasheed’s involvement in cultism indicates that he lacks the character and learning necessary to earn the institution’s certificate.”
“In light of this, AbdulRasheed’s mobilisation to the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been put on hold,” the statement concluded.
