The Israeli army has released video footage that it claims demonstrates a Palestinian rocket’s involvement in the fatal explosion at a hospital in the Gaza Strip. The video, made public on Wednesday, compares aerial shots of Al Ahli hospital and a car park in Gaza City before and after the tragic incident. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has pointed out the absence of craters typically associated with airstrikes.
The IDF had attributed the attack to the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, although Islamic Jihad denied these allegations. According to Israeli army spokesman Jonathan Conricus, the IDF possesses evidence of intercepted conversations between Hamas members discussing a “malfunction or an explosion from a rocket that landed short inside the Gaza Strip.”
Additionally, just before the incident, a barrage of rockets was launched from the central or northern part of the Gaza Strip towards Israel, which was recorded on Israel’s radar system.
