Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has called on Nigerians not to give up despite the country’s current challenging circumstances. Oborevwori’s message to Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 63rd independence anniversary was conveyed through a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon.

He encouraged both Deltans and all Nigerians to lend their support to governments at various levels in their efforts to revitalize the nation and its economy.

The governor expressed, ‘On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I extend my congratulations to Nigerians as we celebrate the 63rd anniversary of our nation’s independence. I send warm greetings to President Bola Tinubu, the people of Delta, and all Nigerians on this year’s independence anniversary.

‘Nigeria has served as a source of inspiration to the entire African continent for 63 years, thanks to the ingenuity and diversity of its people, as well as its sustained period of democratic governance. I firmly believe that our country’s democratic system of government will continue to strengthen.

‘Our administration has taken significant steps in the past four months to enhance the quality of life for Deltans, particularly the state’s workforce. We have also undertaken genuine efforts to improve our infrastructure, as exemplified by the recent award of contracts worth N78 billion for the construction of three flyovers, a cloverleaf, and road expansion in Effurun and Warri, the state’s primary commercial hub.

‘As a relatively new administration, we remain steadfast in delivering on our M.O.R.E. Agenda for Deltans. I want to assure you that we are committed to our goals and will continue to provide effective governance until the very end of our tenure.'”
