After returning to the country following nearly three months of medical treatment in Germany, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State made a firm declaration on Friday, stating his determination to complete his term in office until 2025.
Governor Akeredolu made this statement during a meeting with key stakeholders from Ondo State in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. He expressed his appreciation to his cabinet members for their prayers and commendable work during his absence, assuring them that he has now fully resumed his duties.
He said, “God has answered the prayers of the majority of our people who wished for my return. I am back, and I will immediately get back to work. I want to assure you that I will remain in good health to complete my entire tenure in office. This marks my official return to duty.”
It’s worth noting that Governor Akeredolu had travelled to Germany for medical treatment in June, necessitating his absence from the state. During this period, he officially delegated the responsibilities of governance to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who assumed the role in an acting capacity through a letter communicated to the Ondo State House of Assembly.
