The 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) results have been officially released by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). The Council overcame various challenges, including issues of insecurity and cash policy, through technological innovation, resulting in the timely release of over 91 percent of the candidates’ results within 44 days after the conclusion of the examination.

Mr. Patrick Areghan, the Head of WAEC’s Nigeria Office, made this announcement during a press briefing held at the Council’s national office in Yaba, Lagos.

For students who wish to check their results, the following steps should be followed:

Step 1: Type WAECExaminationnumberPIN*Examyear on your phone (without spaces).

Step 2: Send the message to 32327.

Step 3: You will receive an instant message containing your WAEC statement of result.

Please note that this SMS method of checking results is only available to MTN, Glo, and Airtel subscribers.

If students do not receive their WAEC results via SMS, they can repeat the process and try again.

It’s important to be aware that SMS charges will apply when using this method to check the WASSCE result.

To check results via text message, students need to have purchased the WAEC Direct Scratch card, and the PIN from the scratch card is required in the PIN section of the SMS sent to 32327.

Candidates who registered for the May/June examination can also access their results through the WAEC portal.
