Abia State Governor Alex Otti dissolved the 17 local government transition committees.
Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, revealed this in a press statement on Thursday.
The chairmen and deputies who have been removed must hand over to the head of personnel management in their respective local governments.
Governor Otti also sacked the education secretaries of the seventeen local government areas in a related development.
“Each affected education Secretary is to handover to the most senior director,” according to the press release.
“Because these directives take immediate effect, those affected should comply and ensure a smooth transfer of power in local government areas.”
