The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has taken immediate action to suspend airport car hire services at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja. The decision was prompted by an ongoing factional dispute among the car hire operators, which has been causing disruptions to the airport car hire service operations.
According to Abdullahi Yakubu-Funtua, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at FAAN, “The FAAN wishes to inform the general public that the airport car hire service at NAIA has been suspended with immediate effect. As a result of this suspension, FAAN Management advises all airport users, especially our esteemed passengers, to consider using secured alternative means of transportation or E-hailing services when traveling to and from the airport.”
FAAN acknowledges the inconvenience that this necessary suspension may cause to passengers, airport users, and the public. However, the suspension will be lifted as soon as the differences among the car hire operators are resolved.
The management of FAAN remains committed to its core values of ensuring safety, security, and comfort for all travellers and airport users.
