Arsenal confirmed on Friday that Ainsley Maitland-Niles has left Mikel Arteta’s side after his contract expired this month.
Speaking on his departure from Arsenal, Maitland-Niles told the club’s official website that his time at the Emirates had come to an end, but that he was proud to be part of the squad that won the FA Cup.
“To be honest, words can’t describe how I’m feeling; it’s been a very emotional journey.” “Having grown up supporting the club and progressing through the ranks, I can only be happy with what I’ve achieved since joining,” Maitland-Niles said.
“Throughout my time here, I’ve seen a lot of players come and go and played with a lot of fantastic players.” Unfortunately, it has to come to an end, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time here to play and work for this club.
“Obviously, some of the domestic seasons weren’t so great for me, but at least I got to win some trophies with the club that I love.” The FA Cup final was a beautiful day that I will never forget, and I was happy to be a part of the team that won it.”
