Major General Markus Kangye, the Corps Commander Artillery (CCA), has charged the troops of the 35 Artillery Brigade to adhere to the rule of law, maintain their loyalty, and uphold the principles of military discipline and professionalism consistently.
Major General Kangye conveyed this message during his visit to the Headquarters of the 35 Artillery Brigade at Alamala Barracks in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
He emphasized the importance of discipline, particularly in artillery operations, for soldiers belonging to the Corps of Artillery, known for their effective training and provision of essential firepower support to various Nigerian Army operations. He highlighted that discipline is not only a core value of the Nigerian Army but also a critical aspect of artillery operations.
General Kangye also disclosed that Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has prioritized the welfare of troops, evident in the recently proposed affordable housing scheme for soldiers. This initiative aims to boost troop morale and maintain a high level of combat efficiency during Nigerian Army operations nationwide to combat criminal elements.
Furthermore, he cautioned the troops against engaging in unprofessional behaviour and unauthorized fraternization, especially during operations. He urged them to align with the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, which aims to transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, well-equipped, and highly motivated force capable of fulfilling its constitutional duties within a joint operational environment.
In conclusion, Major General Kangye encouraged the troops to actively participate in all training activities to enhance their professionalism.
