The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Jos, Sokoto State, has affirmed the triumph of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The tribunal ruled that the petitioners, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, were unable to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The PDP, along with its candidate Saidu Umar, had taken their case to the tribunal to challenge the victory of the APC and its candidate, Ahmad Aliyu, in the governorship election that occurred on March 18 in the state.
