Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, has been named the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year.
The announcement of Haaland as the awardee preceded his teammate Kevin De Bruyne and Lionel Messi from Inter Miami at the Champions League group stage draw.
This recognition marks Haaland’s second award within the span of this week.
He secured the PFA Player of the Year earlier in the week and has now clinched this honor following an exceptional debut season in England.
During the previous season, Haaland notched up an impressive tally of 52 goals in 53 matches as Manchester City triumphed in all three major competitions.
Aitana Bonmati claimed the title of UEFA Women’s Player of the Year.
