Apostle Johnson Suleman, head pastor of Fire and Omega Ministries, has launched a defamation case against actress Halima Abubakar.
Halima had accused Apostle Suleman of having an affair with her and poisoning her.
She also said that she was pregnant for him three times and lost all three while he had sex with her as she bled.
Ms Abubakar was taken before Justice J. Enobie Obanor of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, by the preacher’s legal representatives, Ephesus Lex Attorneys and Solicitors.
He sought the court to order the defendant to retract the defamatory remarks she made on her Instagram account and in many online blogs and publications.
He also sought the court to order Halima to pay for the removal of all links and reporting of the allegedly defamatory comments on all internet platforms.
Suleman further sought N1 billion in aggravated and exemplary damages for libel, as well as a permanent injunction barring her from writing or inducing the publication of the aforementioned or similar defamatory comments in the future.
He is also requesting that Halima pay N20 million in legal expenses.
The case is scheduled for hearing on March 25, 2023.
