The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its campaign for the Kogi Governorship Election scheduled for November 11. This decision comes as a sign of respect for Ms. Khadijat Yahaya, a party member who tragically lost her life following an attack by suspected thugs.
Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the spokesperson for the State Campaign Council, made this announcement in a statement released on Tuesday.
Khadijat reportedly lost her life during a confrontation between supporters of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and those of the APC in Kotonkarfe on September 29.
Meanwhile, the APC’s gubernatorial candidate in the state, Alhaji Usman Ododo, visited the family of the deceased in Kotonkarfe on Tuesday to convey his condolences. Ododo expressed deep sorrow at her passing and offered prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul.
