The management of Ambrose Alli University, AAU, Ekpoma, has taken a decisive step by immediately suspending the salaries of staff for July and all financial requests from deans of faculty and heads of department. This action comes as a consequence of some deans and heads of department not complying with the submission of result files and the slow pace of uploading 2020/2021 sessional results to the university’s portal.
As a result of this failure and delay, the activation of the current 2022/2023 academic session on the Kofa platform has been impacted.
Explaining the situation further, the university’s Head of Corporate Communication and Protocol, Otunba Mike Aladenika, stated that the management is deeply concerned about the backlog of results yet to be uploaded, which is adversely affecting the progress of the students. In response, the management is now determined to take stronger measures to ensure that things are done properly and efficiently.
Regarding the processing of transcripts, Otunba Aladenika informed that the university is well aware of the problematic nature of transcript applications in AAU. To address this, the management has instructed the ICT directorate to digitize all students’ academic records that are not currently captured on the platform. Additionally, a cartel involved in transcript racketeering has been uncovered and is currently facing disciplinary action to determine the extent of their operations within the institution.
The university’s administration is resolute in their commitment to eliminate any resistance and corruption within and outside the system, with the ultimate goal of restoring the university to its former glory. Business as usual for those who resist positive change is no longer acceptable.
