UNIBEN arrests admission racketeers

Uniben

The University of Benin, (UNIBEN), has reported the arrest of individuals involved in fraudulent activities related to admissions.

This announcement was made through a statement released by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, in Benin on Sunday.

According to her, these syndicate members deceitfully present themselves as university admission officers and engage in fraudulent activities related to admissions, including falsifying admission documents. Some of them even go to the extent of collecting tuition fees from their victims under the false pretence of assisting them with payment.

The statement also revealed that several arrests have already been made in connection to these fraudulent activities.

The university administration strongly emphasizes that the admission process at the University of Benin is entirely free of charge. They urge the public to exercise caution and be vigilant against fraudsters.
