Samuel Chukwueze has expressed his determination to secure trophies as his motivation for joining AC Milan, the renowned Serie A giants. The 24-year-old recently concluded his five-year tenure with LaLiga’s Villarreal and made the move to AC Milan last month.
The negotiations were somewhat protracted, with Villarreal insisting on AC Milan paying Chukwueze’s €35 million release clause. Eventually, an agreement was reached between both clubs, with AC Milan offering €28 million, inclusive of additional provisions, to secure the winger’s services.
Chukwueze had his unofficial debut in Milan’s friendly victory against Monza on a Tuesday evening and was officially introduced to the club’s supporters the following day.
Speaking about his aspirations with AC Milan, he stated, “I’m eagerly looking forward to getting started. I believe we possess a team capable of triumphing over any competitors in Serie A, which includes challenging Inter and Juventus. I have come here not just to observe or earn money; my primary aim is to win trophies.
My purpose is to play football, etch my name into Milan’s history, and create a legacy for myself. I want both my name and Milan’s to be remembered in the future. I am absolutely committed to achieving victory. My utmost priority is to secure accomplishments like the Scudetto, Champions League, and Coppa Italia.”
