On Tuesday, the Supreme Court in Abuja affirmed Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as Governor of Osun State.
The judgement followed an earlier decision by a three-member panel of the appeal court chaired by Mohammed Shuaibu, which affirmed his victory and nullified the election petition tribunal’s judgment.
In January of this year, an election petition tribunal nullified the governor’s victory.
The state’s immediate-past governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, had filed a petition to nullify Adeleke’s election.
