The Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), has announced the appointment of new executive officers for Union Bank, Keystone Bank, and Polaris Bank, following the dissolution of their respective boards on Wednesday. Sidi-Ali Hakama, the acting director of Corporate Communication, conveyed this information in a circular dated January 10, 2024.
The CBN has stated that the newly appointed executive officers will now be responsible for overseeing the operations of the banks. Furthermore, the central bank emphasized that these appointments will be effective immediately.
On January 10, the CBN appointed the following executives to manage the affairs of each bank:
Union Bank:
– Yetunde Oni — Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer
– Mannir Ubali Ringim — Executive Director
Keystone Bank:
– Hassan Imam — Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer
– Chioma A. Many — Executive Director
Polaris Bank:
– Lawal Mudathir Omokayode Akintola — Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer
– Chris Onyeka Ofikulu — Executive Director
The CBN reiterated that these appointments come into immediate effect.
