Apple has disputed the findings of the French regulator, which alleged that the iPhone 12 emits electromagnetic radiation exceeding the standard exposure levels.
The iPhone 12, a discontinued smartphone released in 2020, reportedly has a Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) that surpasses the European Union’s standard of 4 watts per kilogram, as reported by France’s National Frequency Agency (ANFR).
Earlier on Tuesday, ANFR suggested that corrective updates should be implemented for the iPhone 12, or Apple might need to recall the phones.
In response, Apple issued a statement asserting that the iPhone 12 has been certified by multiple international organizations and is acknowledged as compliant with all relevant SAR regulations and global standards.
The statement further indicated that Apple has supplied ANFR representatives with numerous Apple and third-party lab results that confirm its compliance.
According to the report, ANFR conducted tests on 141 phones, revealing that the iPhone 12 exceeded the legal SAR limit by over 40 per cent.
