Bankole Oginni, a 45-year-old man, has been apprehended by the Ondo State Police Command in connection with the death of a woman believed to be his former romantic partner.
The police reported that the lifeless body of the 45-year-old woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, was discovered in the suspect’s residence in the Oke Aro area of Akure, the state capital. Shockingly, certain body parts had been removed from her remains.
The tragic incident came to light when the deceased’s daughter reported the matter to the authorities. She found her mother’s lifeless body tied with a rope and mutilated in the suspect’s house. The discovery prompted her to notify the police immediately.
Confirming the incident, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the State Police Public Relations Officer, shared that the deceased’s body had been taken to a hospital morgue for further examination, and a thorough investigation into the case had already begun.
According to Mrs. Odunlami, the deceased had been invited to Bankole Oginni’s residence in Oke Aro, Akure, and after she left for his house, she never returned, and her phone was turned off. The daughter’s discovery of the gruesome scene led to the arrest of the suspect, who claimed to be a footballer.
Currently, Bankole Oginni is in police custody, awaiting further legal procedures.
